Country Moms Closet on Poshmark - Buy / Sell Poshmark Review Countrymom's Closet (@jhill4282015) |

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Everyone is looking for work and no one is hiring. Well, there are things you can do in the mean time. If you have well 'stuff'. One of the things I found about 3 years ago ish... Poshmark.com it's actually a pretty nifty way to secondhand shop and first hand too. People order online, they buy things without trying it on, they try it on and hang it in their closet and never wear it and at Poshmark you get the deals. If you're like me with boys that never stop growing and yourself whose wardrobe seems to change with the wind at times, from Corporate America dressy dress, to Relaxed America Dress, to Farm Girl you've got 5 separate wardrobes and 100 different outfits and shoes to match. So. Revamp. Swap them out. There is absolutely nothing in the world wrong with "if your not using the stuff in your home get rid of it". "If you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it". "If it doesn't fit, get rid of it".

How many times have you bought something and never worn it? Better yet how many times have you bought something for a special occasion worn it one time and never wore it again? We've all done it. It's probably still hanging in the back of the closet.

Now think about this. If you paid $20 and the tags are still on it. List it on Posh. The reality is it's been there forever, you've not touched it since you put in the their and that's not going to change anytime soon. I did. You can check out my link below.

Now how do you get people to buy your stuff?

There's a few things you need to do. First, get good pics. Make sure you've got it set up where people can tell what it is. If it's damaged make sure to point that out but come on lets be real if it's too damaged take it to hanna home, goodwill, or another charity and write it off on your taxes the $1 you might make isn't worth the time spent trying to get sold. Second, follow people and share your listings. Share in the groups so other people can follow you. As you build up your followers you can share just to them but in the beginning the group parties are the way to go and theres something happening for everyone all the time. And finally discount your item. Just because you paid $20 doesn't mean someone else will. It also doesn't mean your item is worth $20. Look at the market and price it accordingly.

Something I'm not really fond of on Posh they get a hefty chunk of change off it. It's how they stay up and running and I get that but when you've got something that's a lower dollar item it may not even be worth the time and effort putting it out there because of they way it's structured.

Everytime someone likes your item you have the ability to send them a discounted offer. The discount has to be at least 10% off your listed price and you have to provide a shipping discount and this to me is where you can really loose money. But... if that same person likes more than 1 thing of yours, it's in the bag, literally, you put them all in the bag and discount them together and let the shopping begin... 1 total discount, 1 shipping discount, and however many items they want. Then they get to pick and choose what the like and don't like and the deals on.

Like with everything there are some drawbacks for buyer and seller. There are also some positives. Here's my list.

Pro's

List pretty much anything in your house.

Tons of people use Posh now for buying and selling.

You can find pretty much anything you want or need.

User Friendly.

Easy to search and save favorites and follow sellers you love.

You can share items outside of Posh on other platforms to help get your items seen and sold.

Con's

It's a lot of work.

Make sure your diligent with the share and share alike.

If you make an offer everything has to be discounted.

Price your stuff accordingly or it won't sell.

People love to haggle and low ball offers are a nuisance.

Bottom line if you're buying or selling Poshmark.com is a good place to try your hand if you're willing to do it their way. I've had some luck. I hit a slump once in a while when I'm not on it every day. A good rule of thumb is the more you list the more you sell. Which is true with everything.

That said. Back to my closet.

There's quite a few things that have been out there for quite a while because I'm just now really getting back to it. If you see something in the Country Mom store you just go right ahead and send me an offer because what's listed now is For sale and ON sale. All reasonable offers are being accepted. I've got to clear out the old stuff to make room for new and I've got a ton with tags waiting to get listed.
