Do you ever get brain tired? I don't know about you but to me brain tired is the worst kind of tired. This the one that gets you when your kids are talking a mile a minute and you're somewhere else completely and all of a sudden, they go "mom, hey, MOM, Mooooommmmm are you listening?????" sometimes they get the "oh I'm so sorry bud but mom was somewhere in her head, but it wasn't here" and others they get the "umm no, why? Was I supposed to be?" This is the greatest time for them when they want something though and as they get older, they catch on. They start talking realize you didn't hear a word they said ask for something and you absentmindedly say 'sure', 'yeah, go ahead', or my all-time favorite 'in a minute" to which they happily walk off and saying, 'thanks mom' and you have Noooo idea what you just agreed to. If you're lucky you catch it and cut it off right after it happens, if not... well, if not you're walking in to find what you've agreed to later down the road.
So how do you get brain tired? Up until the last week or so it was the job. Something about it just sucked the energy right out of my brain even though I felt completely unchallenged. I discovered the lack of mental stimulation caused a lot of it. The mundane is so well boring when you're the type of person that enjoys growth and development and is always up for learning something new.
BUT. today I'm brain tired. I'm also just plain old tired and it made me sit back and think. This is the first night in weeks that I have felt accomplished. It was a great day. I'm between jobs and that is what it is, but I worked harder today that I have in a while. I took time for myself. I helped my kids. I did all those things moms do, cooked, cleaned, checked homework. I also made a barnwood wall in my home, rode my horse and set up and linked together 4 of the Country Mom Single Life accounts. So, I got shit done.
You know what I did first though. After I got the kids off to school, I sat down with my bible, I read some of Isaiha and I talked to God and more than that I listened. I'm taking steps. Every day I'm taking a step. I'm also making changes and I intend for these changes to be positive and stick.
So, I'll leave you with a taste of Isaiah... Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for i am with you: be not dismayed, for I am your God: I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
I'm so thankful that God is on my side. You may not be a believer and I'm supposed to say 'to each their own' but instead I will say 'a little faith goes a long way' believer or not you're still a child of God. This isn't a religious page but, I did warn you on the home screen I am a Christian and you might see a prayer or 2.
